DC Caribbean Promoters for Haiti has an immediate goal to raise $30,000 in 30 days. Our goal will be achieved primarily through an aggressive online campaign and a series of events held throughout the Washington, DC, area. We need the community to get involved and actively support this humanitarian effort.
DCPH will contribute all monies raised by making donations to organizations that will provide the people of Haiti with necessary supplies and services including food, water, temporary shelter, and medical attention. The donations will be equally distributed among the following organizations:
Yele Haiti
This foundation, started by Wyclef Jean, was one of the first organizations on the ground in Haiti after the earthquake helping our brothers and sisters.
CARE International
This organization has deployed emergency team members to Port-au-Prince and will also be distributing food. Over 100 staff members on the ground coordinating with U.N. agencies. (www.charitynavigator.org)
Medical Teams International
This organization has airlifted over $1.2 million dollars worth of medicines and medical supplies will help over 45,000 Haitians in the next couple months.
